Water is so important to life and the wells in both old and new Testament times were essential for the people and their flocks. When Jesus met with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well,He said that he could give her living water see John chapter 4 . Later speaking to the people in the temple he promised them that if they came to him he would give them living water. See John 7 v 37 to 39.
