The Feast of Tabernacles

At the Water Libation ceremony each morning during the Feast of Tabernacles, the High Priest would bring bring water from the pool of Siloam  and as he entered the Temple by way of the Watergate three blasts of the silver trumpets were sounded and the priests all repeated the words of Isaiah 12 v 3 " With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation". At the stone altar the water would be poured out as a visual prayer prayer for rain, three more blasts of the trumpets were heard and a choir began to sing the Hallel  psalms of praise including psalm 118 known as a Messianic psalm. It was in this context that Jesus called out that to those who would come to Him he would give Living water.
